2017-18 Forecast
This time of year, GCMHA looks at the next years budget. We are expecting town council to determine the 2017-18 ice user fees on April 5th and would like to get an idea on registration numbers.
I am always asked what next years divisional numbers look like, below is the forecast from this years registration and a couple of new ones that have already asked how to register. This year I have been asked to explain league play as well.
Total forecast as of now is 95 which is close to last years forecast however we ended up with 103.
If you know for certain your child will not be playing next season can you please email registrar@grandecachehockey.com .
UPDATED AUGUST 21!
Initiation 10 players with average of 8-10 joining per season
Novice 13 players to play a tournament season.
Atom 16 players 1 is a goalie to play in League which will include 3 tiering games at the end of October then most likely 8 home games & 8 away games and then at the teams discretion a tournament or 2. Atom level is a full commitment to league play the schedule will be set for the season on Oct 22/23. Advantages to league 8 home games, pre set guaranteed schedule months in advance and financially sound due to the high costs of tournaments.
Peewees 11 players 1 is a goalie to play in league which will include 3 tiering games at the end of October then most likely 8 home games & 8 away games and then at the teams discretion a tournament or 2.
Females 14 players no identified goalie at this time. Depending on the age span may be able to join the All Peace League this year they had 3 teams in the lower half of tier 3?
To be determined in the fall.
Bantam 12 players 2 are goalies to play in League which will include 3 tiering games at the end of October then most likely 8 home games & 8 away games and then at the teams discretion a tournament or 2. Bantam is a full commitment to league play the schedule will be set for the season on Oct 22/23. Advantages to league 8 home games, pre set guaranteed schedule months in advance and financially sound due to the high costs of tournaments, tournaments at this level are almost unheard of. Tier 3 is standard where GC Rockies are automatically placed we can move to Tier 4 that seen 5 teams playing this year Dawson Creek x2, Grande Prairie x2 and Peace River. Tier 4 is non body checking however contact/rubbing is still allowed.
Midgets 19 player, 2 are goalies. Great midget numbers for a successful League season :)
